Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from therapy?
Visiting a therapist for the first time can feel intimidating, and we want to make the process as smooth and comfortable for you as possible. During your first session you can expect to fill out some preliminary paperwork and simple questionnaires that will help us begin the process. We will take the time to get to know you a little better but don’t worry, we don’t expect you to share all the hard stuff right away! We will help you pinpoint how therapy can work best for you, your relationship, or your family and together, we will map out a plan for your sessions moving forward – including which therapeutic approach is best for you, how often we will meet, and more. We will also answer any questions you have about the process.
How long is a typical session?
You and your therapist will determine the length of sessions that will be best suited to your goals. Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes and for couples, the first session is 75 minutes and typically 50 minutes thereafter.
What are your current rates/fees for therapy?
We have taken a great deal of care to pursue advanced training and supervision in order to bring you the most current practices in our field. Our fees start at $185 per 50-minute session. Additional time for longer sessions is prorated based on the therapist’s fee.
What payment types do you accept?
Payment can be made by cash, e-transfer, debit, or credit card. A receipt with college registration number will be provided upon payment of the session, which is required on the day of the appointment.
What is your cancelation policy?

If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, at least 24 hours advanced notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Missed appointments with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full session fee.
